The current crisis of secondary education is not just a problem of size, impersonality or inflexibility, though. It is not even a problem of failing to meet the economic challenges of global competitiveness. It is a problem, rather, of a balkanized, specialized, modernistic school system confronting new and complex conditions of postmodernity.
